Fishing Highlight of the Week: As the water continues to cool, many game fish will stack up in creek channels, chasing shad. To make the most of the situation, tie on a Beetle Spin or Roadrunner crappie jig and cast it out with steady retrieves. These two little lures will catch bass, crappie, white bass and even the occasional bull bream or catfish while all the fish are gorging on the shad.

Family and Community Fishing Ponds: Channel catfish stockings have resumed at Family and Community Fishing Program ponds across the state. These catchable-size channel catfish usually offer excellent action on prepared baits, such as hot dogs, chicken liver, shrimp and commercially prepared dip bait. Click http://www.agfc.com/familyfishing for a list of program ponds and up-to-date stocking information.
