Texas Fishing Reports

Lake Fork Report by JW Peterson

JW Peterson The Bass fishing was awesome this past week at Lake Fork. We boated anywhere from 35-75 Bass per day up to 8 lbs again and lots of Bass in the 2-4 lb range fishing in both deep and shallow water. These fish are fat and healthy and are putting up a great fight. Some days you might not get the fish to bite because of wrong location, weather etc., but make no mistake, Lake Fork is Full of Bass. Carolina Rigs worked great again this week but 1/4 oz Shakey Heads with Baby Brush Hogs and the Drop Shot Rigs produced the most Bass for me. The best colors for me were Watermelon and Red Bug. The cloud cover was great this past week and it kept the Bass biting just about all day long. If we don't receive any major cold fronts for a while, the Bass fishing will remain good with lots of action. Fall is a great time to be on the lake and we spotted several Bald Eagles on the lake this week as well. " What a beautiful bird." We posted a few more pictures on our Facebook page at lakeforkproguides.com Call me or text 214.236.3320 to book a trip to Lake Fork or email us at jjguides@hotmail.com.

At this time the water temperature is right at 72 degrees and the water level continues to slowly drop at 400.49 or - 2.21 off of full pool. The water clarity is clearing but still a little off color in some areas. Fishing is Good.

No Catfish report this week but the Crappie fishing is good with limits caught in 25-27 feet of water on both Jigs and Minnows. The Crappie are moving out to the bridges, points and humps and should continue to get even better as the water temperature drops due to the cooler nights. I have guides available and we furnish tackle and equipment at no charge and we clean and bag your fish to take home. We welcome group or individual fishing trip based on our availability. Again call or text 214.236.3320 or email jjguides@hotmail.com "Crappie trips are fun for the entire family."
