This week at the lake the fishing was tough until the full moon hit. Once the full moon hit, I noticed lots of fish moving shallow. Majority of the fish that I caught this week were in staging areas, feeding up for the spawn. Later in the week, I started to catch some larger fish up shallow beginning to get on beds. Some of the baits used were Carolina Rigged lizards and creature baits, shallow to mid-diving crank baits, jigs, lipless crank baits, and spinner baits.
The fishing on the lake is a little ahead of schedule but not as far ahead with the warm temperatures this spring as you would think.
I would like to thank the folks at Jet-a-Marina for a great tournament this year and look forward to next year’s tournament.
