November 7, 2013

Arkansas River (Pine Bluff Pool) - (Updated 10-30-2013) The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Bass Team said water temperature in the upper 60s. Water clarity is around one foot in most places. The river is creeping along with most current being generated by barge and lock traffic when present. The bass are on their typical fall patterns for this stretch of the river. The bigger fish will be found around the schools of larger shad and can be caught with a variety of shad-imitating lures. Look for wind-blown points and sand ledges that have larger shad relating to them; the bass will not be far away.

Cane Creek Lake - (Updated 10-30-2013) Geoff Wright at Cane Creek State Park said crappie are biting pretty well on minnows and jigs, but there doesn’t seem to be a set time that the action is focused around. No report on any other species.

Lake Chicot - Jesse James Charter Fishing (870-355-7800 had no report.
