Eleven Mile Reservoir
The midge hatch is slowing down, and with all the moisture this year everything is very green. The water flow is sitting at 354 cubic feet per second and the water temperature is 54 degrees. The trout fishing has been good for shore anglers. The most popular species caught are rainbow trout with reports of a few cutbow trout and some brown trout. The best reports are coming from the South Shore, along Rogers Mountain, Lazy Boy, and Rocking chair. There have been reports of a few large fish that have been caught. During Free Fishing weekend a 7-year old caught a 23 inch rainbow. But most are in the size range of 14-19inches. Boat anglers seem to be doing better than shore anglers. The Northern pike fishing has been good with mostly smaller fish being caught most running to about 24 inches. Work large stick baits and fish them slow. Rocky Flats to Stoll Mountain or try Howbert to Witchers Cove. The bite has been sporadic, catch a couple then wait, but success occurs throughout the day.
Jackson Lake
The lake level is full and the surface water temperature is approximately 69 degrees. Fishing has been really good for trout. A few wipers and walleye have been taken as well. To view the latest fish survey and management data for Jackson Lake.
North Sterling Reservoir
The water level of the lake is good and the lake is full. The lake water temperature is currently 60 degrees. Wiper have been caught in the Elks Bay just south of the boat ramp as well as just east of the swim beach. Walleye are being caught near the inlet canal as well as up the Darby Arm, just North of Darby Point. Boat fishermen have caught trout near the dam and the south boat ramp along with some crappie and wiper. The catfish have been caught at the West Trailhead and at the Inlet Canal. The road to the south boat ramp and ski beach is closed at this time due to flooding.
Spinney Mountain Reservoir
Overall the fishing has been good. Shore anglers and boaters are catching lots of fish and good sized fish as well, early in the morning and late afternoon are seeing the best results. Midges, Wooly Buggers, San Juan worms, and copper john's are all working well for trout species.
