In
attempt to launch an all out assault on the fishing industry, Lucky Craft
turned more than a few heads last week in Las Vegas. Voted as the “Best
New Hard Bait” at the 2004 ICAST show, the Live Pointer 95SP™ has
already created an ear drum rattling buzz throughout the fishing industry.
In previous years, outdoors writers had done the voting for each award category.
This year however the ICAST organization shifted gears and gave retail buyers
the honor of choosing the champions. “This is always
a great win but it really means a lot when the retailers vote for you to
win,” explained Chris Armstrong of Lucky Craft USA.
As
the old adage goes, looks aren’t everything. This is definitely the case
with the new Live Pointer 95SP™. This bait is a fish catching,
limit producing, machine. Like the Pointers that preceded it, the Live
Pointer 95SP™ has the classic Pointer head movement. In addition, the
multi-jointed tail moves in such a fluid side to side motion, you will
almost think you are using live bait. “This bait has a totally different
and new swimming action,” Lucky Craft Pro Mike Auten explained. “There
are so many different possibilities to fishing this bait. You can still
get it to jerk side to side like a standard jerk bait, but you can also
make it swim with a tail kicking action.” The jointed portion of the bait
is supported by a double reinforced stainless steel wire to ensure durability
and stability. Because of the innovative design, this bait can actually
absorb the shock received when a bass tries to turn or rollover in an attempt
to escape. This technological masterpiece gives anglers every possibility
to keep a good solid hookset.
The Live
Pointer 95SP™ was engineered to appeal to more than a single sense.
It was designed to trigger both, “image bites” that are common with swim
baits and “reaction bites” that are often enticed by jerk baits. Still
incorporated in the solid head portion of the bait, are precision balanced
weights and rattles. It is apparent at first sight that this bait is
like no other on the market. “A lot of times, if you can just throw something
new to the bass, it will trigger a strike.” Auten said. “Also if you
are getting fish that will not commit to taking a bait, you can switch
on them and that can make all the difference.”
Unlike
many other baits on the market, this one should not be viewed as one to
catch fisherman and not fish. If you are not throwing one of these “weapons
of bass destruction,” you will be out fished. The new Live Pointer 95SP™ should
be available to the public in August of this year. Visit your local Lucky
Craft dealer to place your order. You can also visit Lucky Craft online
