The All Star of graphite rods

. . . meet the new recruits for 2003

by Tom Morrison

Made in the U.S.A., but Canadians like them too. Sorry about that, it just seemed to fit.

We all have our favourite rods just as we do our favourite fishing line. Some anglers would never think of buying or even consider another rod makers line other than the ones that made their dreams come true by bringing those smallie trophies to the boat five years ago. Loyalty is good, it keeps businesses in business. However, for those anglers always looking to advance to the next level or to go right to the best, there's the All Star Graphite Rods product line.

The company knew it had a winner on their hands with their introductory offering 20 years ago, the Classic. Since then, All Star Graphite Rods has attracted such boosters as David Wharton, Terry Baksay, Lendell Martin and Basil Bacon just to drop a few names. You only attract the best anglers by providing the best product. Since the inception of the Classic (which has only been improved), All Star has developed such recognizable product names as the Elite, IM10X, T Series and the indisputable king of the rod line-up the Titanium Series - simply put, it's the standard by which all other rods are measured. I could go into technical jargin but in order to understand the 'claim to fame', one has to hold it and use it, to appreciate it.

All Star Graphite Rods is renowned for their specialty selections that provide every angler with every opportunity to present their baits to their maximum potential. In keeping with this tradition, All Star has constructed new rods for 2003, at the request and suggestion of many anglers looking for even more specific tools.

In the Titanium Series, look for the AST813T - Tops & Tails Casting Rod at 6'9"; AST784CB AND AST844CB - Crankbait rods (casting); AST782S-TN at 6'6" Ultra Light; AST843MC-3 and AST845MC-3 at 7' in 3 piece packing Travel Rods. The "T" Series boasts new Ultra Light Spinning Rods in Tennessee handles; 6'9" Casting Rods and a 7'6" Magnum Spin Rod with medium action. The IM10X has added two new Hoppin Jig Rods, Jerkbait Rod, two new Popping Rods, two new Ultra Light spinning rods, two 3-piece rods and a travel series. My favourite, the Classic has a new Soft Jerkbait rod at 6'10" and a new 6'6" Ultra Light with Tennessee handle. The Elite Series introduces 13 new rods including such specialties as the salmon\steelhead line. The Breakaway series has 4 new additions and the Big Game Series adds one new rod to it's line-up.

As you can see, the list is extensive and practical for 2003. If you want to see the rods and view the selection charts for applications, take a ride on the world wide web to http://www.allstarrods.com and enjoy the view. Use the best to become the best . . . use All Star Graphite Rods.
