There is many different types of ways to rig a soft plastic worm. There is texas, carolina, split shot and more. But in this article I will show you a way
to rig your worm to make it look as wacky as possible! Now wacky is good, don't
get me wrong! Ok, here's how you do it. Take a good sized hook and place it
dead center of the worm. Yeah... thats right... in the center! You may think
that is a wierd place to put it but trust me on this one. Is the hook on? yes?
What is great about this method is that you don't need any weights. Ok, here
is how you fish it: cast it as far out as possible.(close to cover is possible)
Let it sit for 5 seconds so the bait sinks about 3 feet. Now using a jerking
method bring it back. Every 3 jerks pause for 5 seconds.
Retreiving it this way gives the bait the "wacky" look. This is
a good method to use in the spring and in the hot summer days when bass are
just really lazy. Now if you want to get all tecnical about this method there
is a company called Popeye's Baits that has a very good supply of worms and
accesories for wacky rigging. They have an actual tool that palces a rubber
band in the center of the worm. This is a good thing because you don't have
to make holes in your lure.I personally think that their 5inch worms are
the best for this method.. They have a better action than some other brands.
