Doesn't everyone love it when spring is knocking at our door? Well, I know
I do! But
there is one important thing I like to do before the warm weather comes back.
That is,
tune up my tackle! Here is a list of what I like to do before I go out one
the water
in spring.
- Clean my tackle box!:I like to empty my whole tackle box and clean it out
of any
dirt, dust or anything that is unwanted.
Take the smell out!: When there is no more lures in your tackle box clean
in using
mild soap and water. Then leave it outside for a couple of hours to let it
dry off
so the fishy smell gets out.
Tune up your lures: It is a really good thing to take a good look at all your
lures.
I like to sharpen my hooks and see if there is any that need to be replaced
because
of rust or if they got bent cause of the big one that got away!
Check rod and reel:It's a very good idea to check your rod and reel. For instance,
check your rod eyes to see if any of em need to be fixed etc.. It is very good
to put
new line on your reel and oil it a bit. Get your fishing weapon ready for the
hunt!
