Sometimes you come across a fishing
lure that’s just plain fun to throw. Gambler’s
Jump’n
Shad is that bait for me. Think of it as a soft topwater with
an attitude!
To get the action (and fun) out of
the Jump’n Shad, cast it out and reel up the slack
line. While steadily retrieving the Jump’n Shad (with
your rod tip pointed toward the bait), just move the rod
tip up quickly and watch it jump out of
water!
If there are any bass in the area,
they will check out the commotion… that’s when
you’ll
want to have a firm hand on your fishing rod, cause ole Mr.
(or Mrs.) Line Sides will want to smack it right out of your
hand!
I like to throw the Jump’n
Shad with a CastAway SB66 Surface Bait Rod, a trigger-handled
6’6” medium power graphite rod. When coupled with
a 6.2:1 reel spooled with 17 pound monofilament line, it makes
a great fish catching combo. Check out the SB66 at CastAwayRods.
The next time you’re looking
for some fantastic and fun topwater action, tie on a Gambler
Jump’n Shad. But be ready for the reaction! Check them out
