High Tech Fishing Lines

The high tech fishing lines anglers now
have access to, have lots of anglers asking questions. There are good
and bad reviews depending on what we hear. But the new lines might
just solve
some anglers daily fishing challenges. Spider Wire was introduced to
the market and was billed as the fishing line of the future. This
new line
is made of an extremely strong fiber and the line is almost indestructible.
This line comes in sizes from 2 pound test all the way up to more than
50 pound test.
And this line is very thin, almost half the sizes of
monofilament fishing lines. When old time anglers look and use this
line, it brings
back memories of the old nylon braided lines of years past. When
these lines first made their appearance, rods and reels were not ready
for
this technology. And many anglers believed the lines would be responsible
for
breaking rods. But that problem has not been evident, once anglers
learn not to set the hook too hard.
The high tech lines are made of
non stretch
fibers making these lines super sensitive. These lines will heat
up rods guides and can cut into the soft materials these guides are
made of.
Be sure your rod guides get extra attention anytime these lines
are
used.
Many of the rods on the market today, have tougher guides so high
tech lines can be used. Reels can also handle these new lines. Stronger
gears and parts make using these lines easier. Watch for the lines
to
get very
tight on spools under heavy fishing pressure. These lines can crack
older reels spools.
Be sure any time these lines are used not to
wrap this
line around your hands to try and break it. These lines can
cut easily leaving
severe wounds. The best way to break these lines is to wrap it
around boat cleats and pull the line with the boat. Bank fishermen
should use an old
broom
handle or a paddle to break these lines.
