In the “Why didn’t I think of that” category comes
the new Florida Rig Weight from Gambler. It is a new take on an old
weight. In the past, anglers used everything from toothpicks to skirt
strands to “peg” a sinker and prevent it from sliding freely
on the line. The new Florida Rig Weight is easy to use, protects the
line from damage, and catches fish. The design is simple yet highly
effective at keeping the sinker on the nose of the bait.
A
pack of sinkers come with a wire threader (see above picture).
The unique inner material of the product lets the weight slide into
position
when rigging but keeps the weight in place after the rig is complete.
Thread the line through the sinker using the threader, attach a hook,
and add your favorite soft plastic to the mix. Once the plastic worm
or bait is rigged, slide the weight down the line and until it touches
the bait. The sinker stays put. Want to try a quick Carolina rig, slide
the weight a foot or so above the bait and sling it out. On the next
cast, slide the weight back to the bait. It is simple and effective.
Pro anglers know that pegged sinkers or Florida rig soft plastics penetrate
cover effortlessly and hang up less often than Texas rig setups.
Gambler’s Florida Rig Weights lets the fishermen discard the
toothpicks and other pegging material. The biggest advantage of the
new weight is how it protects the line. Toothpicks cause damage to
the line as it is forced into the sinker. Florida Rig Weights protect
the line, allows changes in placement of the sinker on the line, and
stay where you put them. From punching the pads to penetrating thick
brush, the Florida Rig Weights get the job done.
Easy to use, penetrates cover, and other qualities are great but it
comes down to fish catching in the end. The Florida Rig Weight catches
fish. It saves time by decreasing the readjustment after each cast,
the number of reties due to break offs or line damage caused by toothpicks,
and increasing the hookups with a sinker that will slide on the hook
set. The sinkers come in a rattling model with sizes from a sixteenth
to three quarters ounces. The sizes let anglers probe deep cover, punch
thick grass, or flip a lay down with confidence and efficiency.
Gambler has produced a great idea that makes fishing
better. The easy to use, line protecting, and fish catching weight
is sure to become
a favorite addition to your tackle box.
