Topwater Fishing at its Best

Baseball has the homerun ball. Football has the bomb. Bass fishing equivalent is a crushing, topwater strike. Anglers spend time searching for an invisible foe that light taps and sensitive strikes are the signal to set the hook. The topwater strike leaves no doubt that a fish has accepted the bait. High Roller Fishing Lure Company produces a line of outstanding topwater baits. The company’s array of floating plugs will drop the bomb on the bass.

High Roller™ makes several styles of lures for on top action. The 3.25” HighRoller ™ is wounded bait lure that walks across the surface with ease. The walking plug bounces and darts in a zig zag pattern when twitched. When shad are splashing on the surface, flipping against the bushes, or dancing on the lily pads, the 3.25” RipRoller™ is a great lure for attracting Mr. Bass’ attention. The bait floats high in the water and has a rear propeller for mimicking shad splashing on the surface. Hardware for the RipRoller™ includes sharp, saltwater treble hooks. This makes the lure great for fresh or saltwater species.

2.75” PopRoller™ is another topwater choice offered by High Roller Lures. As with all varieties of High Roller products, each plug is made of high quality wood and hardware. PopRollers™ feature the same great finish as any High Roller Lure. PopRollers spit, walk, and dance across the surface with an easy twitch of the rod. With the durable finish and saltwater setups, the High Roller product line dishes it out as well as takes it. Topwater blow ups from bass, reds, or speckle trout keep coming and the lures stand up to the punishment.

Whether the choice is a prop bait, walker, or popper, High Roller’s line of topwater plugs are an excellent choice. Lure finishes come in great patterns for any game fish. Strong hardware of each lure last and handles repeated strikes. Clear water to muddy, topwater lures draw strikes. For exciting action on top, swing for the fence and try a High Roller lure.

Check out the saltwater version, too. Since I fish in Louisiana’s marshes, I appreciate a lure that can handle the saltwater and big fish that comes with it. The Fingerling Holographic Jig is swim bait that comes with a strong hook, molded head, and realistic tail. Be sure to try it on your next trip. You will be surprised how well a swim bait performs.
