For the weekend angler, as well as the professional
angler, eye protection is a huge necessity. Some of the biggest problem
anglers have after years of exposure to the sun, are cataracts. I
have never before realized how important utilizing the proper Eyewear
was until, I started learning about the effects that the sun can
have on your eyes, as well as skin, which is a subject I'll save
for another article.
Personally, I prefer Oakley Polarized Eyewear, to
anything else on the market, and yes, I have tried quite a few different
brands. Oakley Eyewear, is not only the most comfortable Eyewear
that I personally have ever worn but also, it gets the job done of
providing proper protection for my eyes. Only Oakley utilizes pure
Plutonite Lenses, an optically superior material that blocks 100%
of UV and harmful blue light.
Oakley Iridium Lenses are blasted with 12 microns
of Iridium, are even more effective at reducing glare while balancing
light transmission and color recognition in every type of weather
condition I wear the Oakley straight jackets, with black iridium
polarized lenses. Keep in mind, that not only do all of Oakley Eyewear
provide you with 100% of protection from UV, and harmful blue light,
but the black iridium polarized lenses at 400 to 800 Wavelengths(mm)
of sunlight, provides you with less than 25% light transmission,
which is excellent for strong sun luminosity. Now since we are on
polarized Eyewear, I must inform you of how well the Oakley polarized
Eyewear is for sight fishing. I fish the Bass Western Invitationals,
and in the West most of the water is crystal clear, so polarized
glasses are a must. I was very, very impressed with how well Oakley
glasses performed for me on the Columbia River this year, compared
to other polarized glasses that I've used in the past on a couple
of clear lakes that we have hear in Indiana.
Well, I think that this is enough about eye protection,
for now. However, I must add that, no matter what type of eye protection
that you choose to wear, make sure that you are getting proper protection
for your eyes. remember your eyes are the windows to your brain.
