Increase Your Success With Jig X
Who would have thought that you could improve the design
of a jig? Bass
fishermen and women are always looking for an edge. Often, it
is those small details through the course of a day on the water that
make the difference between a big fish and the one that got away. It
is not only the details of the environment, but the small details of
your tackle are just as important. Vertical Lures has designed a jig
full of characteristics that will have you catching more fish.
The obvious difference between this jig and other jigs is the head
design. Most of the time, bass are either in or around cover
such as rocks and wood. When you are using sound equipment,
the weakest link between you and a fish is most often the knot. With
the knot out in front of the bait, the first part of the bait to slide
across the cover is the knot. This abrasion will weaken a knot,
causing a break off and loosing a big fish, not to mention loosing
a jig. The Jig X knot tie is fixed behind the head to protect
the knot and to prevent weeds and scum from catching on the head of
the bait.
Another strong feature of the Jig X is the ultra sharp 7/0 Mustad
hook. This hook is very strong and will not bend under
the load of a heavy fish using super lines such as braid. This
same hook is even on the finesse size 1/4 ounce. Next is
the Chunk X trailer. With other bulkier jig trailers, you get
a loss of hook gap when you slide the trailer up the hook shank. This
means you will not always get hook penetration as you set the hook. Not
with the Chunk X, it has been molded to the angle of the hook, leaving
an unobstructed path for the weed guard. The legs of the trailer
have horizontal ridges that give different actions according to the
retrieve speed you are imparting to the lure.
Have you ever made a perfect skip under a dock or overhang with your
choice jig only to find out your trailer slid down the hook? When
was the last time you set the hook on a fish and your trailer was gone? Vertical
Lures has designed the Sling, which keeps your trailer secure to the
hook shank until you decide to remove it.
All of these features add up to a lure that catches more fish. Tournament
fishermen need an edge to win. Using the Jig X, you will hook
more bass and get hung up less. You will have no more wasted
casts and you can concentrate on the details of the bass instead of
the details in your equipment. Vertical Lures will be adding
a new product to their line called the Football Style Jig X, available
for purchase on August 1, 2007. See demos on
