New H3 Titanium Rods by American Rodsmiths
By Jason

In a world of ever changing technology our sport of fishing seems
to takes leaps and bounds on a yearly basis. This past year was no
exception as I was able to fish with the most well thought out rod
I have ever had in my hands. The new H3 Titanium rods by American Rodsmiths
are the new cream of the crop for strength and sensitivity.
These new rods are the first rods that actually have titanium fibers
placed in the rod blank. The rod itself has the three fibers of graphite,
carbon and of course titanium, which gives this rod blank extreme sensitivity,
strength and an overall lightweight. While the rod blank itself is
truly impressive it is the new handle system that I fell in love with.
American Rodsmiths have engineered a new handle that they call "Maximum
Contact" handle system. This system starts with the reel handle
itself employing a soft touch reel seat, which actually has a soft
feel. The reel seat also has a hook keeper that is out of the way and
keeps those rods from tangling. The new patent pending "Direct
Contact" portion of the handle sets it far ahead of other rods.
The handle of the rod has graphite contact bars that are in touch with
the blank and reel seat. No matter where you hold the rod your hand
is always in contact with these contact bars. This allows for the most
sensitive rod I have ever fished with. American Rodsmiths have both
fresh water and salt-water H3 Titanium models available with a price
tag of $250.
I was able to fish with these rods last season and found them to be
truly something new. These rods especially shined for me during the
summer months when I was fishing deep-water jigs or Carolina rigs.
The unmatched sensitivity let me feel bites that I don't think
I would have felt with other high-end rods. American Rodsmiths also
has a full line up of rods ranging from the high end H3 to the beginner
Pro Set series. All rods are built with the utmost care and quality
products. I suggest the next time you are on the water to try an American
Rodsmith rod, you won't be sorry.
